Jim, Your points are all well taken. I'm not in the habit of trying to catch falling knives or guessing bottoms--generally a fools game. But I do often put stink bids in for gap fills as so often a stock spikes down to fill a gap and then rallies. I've found this to be a conservative way to make money more times than not. I don't know if you trade markets other than energy, but two examples just from the past week, in addition to IOC (so far),are NML.V (iron ore) and EAS.V (a gold property). FWIW, if you look at their charts you'll see what I mean.
