Considering the corrupt mess of the Big Dig in Boston and the diversion of flood control money for other purposes in Lousiana, one would need an extensive accounting exercise to compare corruption and inefficiency levels.

One difference - China does gain by not having environmental lunatics write regulations.

The article is correct in viewing the greatest threat to China's growth as internal issues, with various forms of corruption leading the way.
