You have no idea how much oversight and controls are already larded on clinics and hospitals.

Therefore, it strikes me that the heart of the problem is at the clinic and hospital levels and the lack of cost controls and oversight.

We want to believe that Government regulation gets us better care. It doesn't. But too long a discussion to really get into here.

We had a good example of a major fallacy in nutrition being pushed by the Government today. Big push for children to lose weight by exercising.

The administration also called for more physical exercise for children, saying they needed 60 minutes of active play a day, but the average American child spent more than 7.5 hours a day watching television and movies, using cell phones and computers, and playing video games.

I have no quarrel with children getting more exercise. They need it. But study after study has shown no permanent weight loss from exercising. You lose weight by changing your eating habits.

The kids today are loading up on sugar, wheat and cornstarch. This is why they are obese. Gotta stop them from drinking those "big gulps" from 711 with 23 teaspoons of sugar from HFCS in them.

The Gov won't tell you this.
