They need it. But study after study has shown no permanent weight loss from exercising. You lose weight by changing your eating habits.

No doubt that changing eating habits is key. But exercise burns up calories, increases the metabolism and promotes healthier living..

But the exercise shouldn't be high impact (like excessive running). That just wears the body parts out faster.

The basic rule is that a pound of fat equates to 3500 calories. If people limit their caloric intake, while expending calories, the body will dip into those fat reserves.
