The Dems are sowing the seeds of defeat this fall. A perfect storm for defeat. A disillusioned base who has seen their party leaders inaffective, unable to pass major legislation, too quick to compromise, and not willing to push through their legislation. Add to this a revived wild-eyed Republican right that is bolstered by election wins in off years, and you have a potential tidal wave coming that could sweep the Democrats out of power. I would not be surprised if that happens this fall. Perhaps it will help Obama in 2012, just as Clinton was helped by the contrasts drawn between his moderation and the right wing extremism in the 1994 Newt Gingrich Republican Congress.
