Tim, in these posts you clearly are not cheerleading but you're not exactly voicing strong criticisms....more like mild rebukes. And they are of a theme......spending. Are we to believe you think the Rs are perfect otherwise?

"...The best bet is to control spending. Here is one of the few areas where I would agree with you - Bush has done a lousy job of controlling spending."

Message 22462614;

This is a criticism of Rs? Would have fooled me.

Bush Continues His Uncanny Imitation of Herbert Hoover
Message 26109880

Reckless spending increases under both Bush and Obama have resulted in unprecedented deficits.
Message 26233100;

Softening the blow by including Obama?

"...and Bush is not a "small government conservative". I'm not quite sure I am actually alarmed, but I am disappointed.

Cutting taxes was a accomplishment. Unfortunately it is undermined by lack of restraint on spending."

Message 22242373;

Again, a mild rebuke.

"Nice to see a criticism of Bush here that he actually clearly deserves. One could quibble over different ways of measuring big spender, but however you measure it Bush has been a big spender so there isn't much point in breaking it all down.

Early on in his administration I gave a bit of a pass because of the aftermath of 9/11, and several other factors, but he kept being a big spender through most of his two terms, and the excuses have long since worn thin.'

Message 24042282;

Now you're starting to warm up. But what about starting an unnecessary war and extending tax cuts longer than necessary or not watching the banks and Wall Street more closely?

Looks like you took a similar turn as I did after 9/11. I kept making excuses for him for a couple of years after that, but finally got fed up. Good to see that you criticize where it is deserved regardless of which party deserves it. It's nice to have some company for a change. Most of the time I feel like I'm the only wolf among a herd of mindless sheep.
