"Had we fininshed building the huge collider in Texas that Clinton was force to shut down we might have found the Higgs Boson and how matter is created and the birth of the universe, not to mention a zillion other insights into quantum physics who theories directly affect 40% of everything we produce."

From perhaps the more relevant political point of view, had the super collider been completed and activated in Texas, the center of high energy physics research would not have shifted from the US to Europe as it has. Along with this shift of activity has come a large shift in talent. Americans go to Europe now. Since the start of WWII, it used to be the other way around.
