Myself, I don't blame the problem with the (D)'s not voting as a block - I blame the (R)'s FOR doing that. If we had an (R) party that was more diverse and independent, as we have in the past, Obama would expect to knit together coalitions consisting of members from BOTH parties.

Take these two new nuclear reactors to be built in Georgia. The funding will no doubt be in a (D) proposed energy bill. You'd expect the representatives from Georgia to vote for them, yes? Watch the Georgian (R)'s, and see if they vote against with the rest of their party.

The founders didn't like the idea of political parties, and thought they were an evil and a risk for the young democracy.
