Gary,

Thanks for the update.

I apologize for the late data of the last few weeks. In all the time we've been using
these people, it's never been so bad.

Our priorities have been in getting release 2 converted to a 32 bit version. That
process is nearly complete now. We should be able to ship a 32 bit beta in a few
weeks.

This is a great. I can't wait. The profileration of the win32 api
through 95 and NT will make this a real value to your customers. better pre-emptive multitasking and support and NT are welcome additions in my book.

he scan syntax has been changed to require a semicolon as a terminator character.
This change fixed all of the white space problems in the syntax. The if then else
statements can be nested now.

Yes, Gary you are the best.

We went back to using ctree as the database engine. It is much faster and the files
are more compact than the xbase engine that went out with the 16 bit version. Some
of the data structures have been changed to eliminate redundant instructions and to
speed up the disk accesses.

You will see a vast improvement in scan times especially if you can place the data
files across 2 different drives.

Improved scan times are always welcome although its never been high on my hitlist.

Getting the early data feed will now become a high priority item here.

Excellent, so much for the competition.

Sean

Gary,

Sounds like release of release 2 is still a long way away!

We should be able to ship a 32 bit beta in a few weeks.

How about accepting more beta testers then? We have been promised this thing for a long time now.

John K.

GET can not read !xxx files, I wish you could change to a $ or # prefix convention. It is rough not being able to read indices in GET.

Sounds good on 32 bit. Suggest you have a web page to provide Scan imports from users or your company and to notify users on status of data downloading.

Gary,

Thanks for the update. The earlier data will be much appreciated.
Hope my comments on R2 have been helpful and I look foward to the 32 bit version.

Both versions of QP are great products and you should be very proud of them.

Bob

We went back to using ctree as the database engine.
Gary, a 32 bit version will be very welcome, and the scan improvements sound good. While I am interested in scan speeds, I get queezy feeling about the ctree database structure. The problem, as I understand it is that a computer can only have one ctree database open at one time. I know for a fact that my trading software, Fidelity's FOX+ (16 bit)is a ctree database; and SuperCharts (16 bit)is also a ctree system. For me that's two too many. Both are widely used programs and the situation could create a steady stream of crashes and dissatisfaction. I like to recommend that you contact those 2 software groups and try to work out a fix of some sort so that your programs can work together.

Gary, thanks for the update. Would be very much interested in being a 32 bit version beta user. If you decide to entertain more beta users or different beta users for the 32 bit version I would like to volunteer. Please let me know.

Extremely good news, Gary: both for 32 bit and semicolon terminator and nested if/then statements.

If possible to sign on for beta test of 32 bit version, I am very interested.

Gary: Thanks for the update on the newer version of QP2. I look forward to its release, though I continue to be happy with the present version and its scanning capabilities. I'm finding a lot of good buys out there with the fundamental scans.

One small problem tonight: The Nasdaq Comp numbers aren't right. They show a drop of more than 500 points, to something around the 1000 level. QP is one step ahead of Robert Prechter and other doomsayers with those numbers.

The true numbers are something like:

Price:1637.33
Open:1639.94
High:1644.42
Low:1634.12

You have convinced me that I should try Q+ but I need help. Demo says "adjust browser for qpl viewer". How do you in 4.03? Edit/Preferences/Navigator/Applications seems to be the right place, but they ask for a MIME type, and I see no directions for filling that in. It will not let me leave it blank. What next? Thanks in advance.
