Paul: VLNC did nicely today, despite the market "mushiness." Indeed, it's moved ahead these past couple of days on larger volume than we've seen in some time. At the very least this may imply that we've seen the bottom in the high $7's. What's driving this surge? Perhap's folks are reacting to Red Chip and seeing the potential? Or perhap's folks "in the know" have seen the results that've been speculatively stated here in terms of product efficacy(I say "speculatively" because the company hasn't confirmed any of what's been stated so far, despite Red Chip's commentary). Or perhap's broker's are beginning to recommend VLNC as a speculative buy and people are following up by reviewing this board from beginning to now and getting a "warm and fuzzy?" This I'd like to think since the verbage here has been low on hype, although strongly positive, and long on substance, with a firm eye toward next year. imo. ;-) Of course, that's after they've done all the usual D.D..

As someone else has posted, I like that VLNC's moving upward here toward's year-end. It implies strict tax-loss selling isn't likely to occur. However, for those of us who bought additional shares during the Hang Seng debacle, they could use any losses incurred this year to offset VLNC's move from its Hang Seng low to it's current position without giving up any of their core VLNC holdings(not me, not me, luckily losses have been slim this year, but some might)? If there's a dip maybe it'd be caused by this(barring any bad news, of course), however I'd say you could give rationale's forever. In any event, I look for any dip to be minimal(now that I've said that, watch, it'll drop a point tomorrow....heh). Of course, the above is all simply a guess. As for me, I'm a buyer everytime it drops below $8.5 at this point and hope for one more dip to that point between now and year-end.

Here's to a fantastic 1st half of '98, not all that far away at this point.

Regards!

John~
