*** Microsoft tactics under scrutiny at Senate hearing

Microsoft Corp's tactics came under attack Tuesday when a senator
voiced concern about the software giant's efforts to flex its
"monopoly" muscle when doing Internet business. "I have not made any
secret of the fact that I have serious concerns about Microsoft's
recent efforts to exercise its monopoly power, and that I plan to
continue to examine the company's practices," Sen. Orrin Hatch, head
of the Judiciary Committee, said at the start of an electronic
commerce hearing. The hearing comes after the Justice Department last
month accused Microsoft of using its Windows "monopoly" to force
computer makers to install its Internet browser on their computers.
