Moreover I am 100% (make that 500%) in favor of pay cuts for politicians, management, and administrator goons who negotiate union salaries.

Mish.. not trying to be "testy" in asking this.. But someone else previously asked what your compensation was and whether you were offering to reduce your salary on behalf of your clients.

Yeah.. I know it's private versus public, but as a financial money manager your profession isn't much different that the boys on Wall St. And from my perspective, having Wall St. Bankers/Traders making huge bonuses on the banks of taxpayer funds is not much better than someone borrowing money (via margin loans) to short the markets. ALL short positions are effectively debt related. It's all debt from which money managers are reaping profitable windfalls.

Btw, we're having some admittedly contentious debate on this thread. Many of us have different perspectives and ideas about where our financial problems lie, and how to resolve them.

We should all, including myself, remember that if everyone thinks alike then no one is thinking. We must be willing to accept and entertain the "educated" (that being used subjectively) views and opinions of others.

You and I often find ourselves on opposite sides. Sometimes maddeningly so, on both sides, I'm sure. But one of the reasons I hang out here is because you succeed in bringing forth spirited discussions that educate everyone.

And you may be surprised to learn this, but I am responsible for a number of "recommendations" on your posts.

So I hope we can all have these spirited debates and if we disagree, just agree to do so.

One thing I've learned in this life, thus far, is that truth is often a moving target.

Hawk

Asininity. Now there's a word I haven't heard in years. I heard somebody say "feckless" the other day in the grocery store. That's an oldy, too. I think this recession is going to improve our vocabulary immensely.

Fact: You've posted vehemently against public- and private-sector unions.
Fact: The number of recent posts against unions outnumbers posts against the primary causes of this crisis.

What you're "tired of" is irrelevant. Your attitude reeks of intolerance and disrespect for the law; it's ignorance in action, designed to provoke polarization and confrontation instead of cooperation.

What bothers you is opposition: you want cheerleaders, not discourse. Like many you seek simplistic solutions to complex problems. You're just a blogger whose popularity has gone to his head.

It's obvious you've never had a position of responsibility in these matters, where you must make decisions affecting the lives of thousands.

Let's not continue the illusion of debate. I'll leave you alone to rouse your lynch mob.
