Morkoff's argument is weak. Things do not transform themselves overnight. New industries take time to take-off, and Intel will not be taken by surprise. I can't think of a company more better-off with resources to undertake new segments than Intel. Also, the status-quo will not go away but continue to grow...there will always be a need for faster servers, desktops, etc. Also, he doesn't know what Andy's basic philosophy is: PARANOIA. Andy even said that Intel will soon "differentiate" its chips based on functionality.
