What I think is funny is even today the "geeks" on TV run a command line instead of using a mouse. They are always typing away furiously.

Ha. I once had a 'puter fully loaded with 32K words (12 bit word) of core.

Luxury.

Turn computer off - come back later turn computer on and memory still had same program - no loading paper tape needed!

Talk about your instant on computers.

I always imagined that they hired a squadron of little old ladies wearing those glasses that look like magnifying lenses furiously putting these things together with knitting needles...
