RW, there is no doubt in my mind that Lawyers - both on the claimant and defence side - under a single payer system will be eventually thrown under the bus. Makes no difference what Pres. Obama promised them - there is no way Uncle Sam will support our uniquely huge and elaborate medicolegal system. It's a question of choices and costs, especially political costs. Do we really want to start crying Uncle (Sam) before we try other means? I doubt very much that America in general would be happy with socialized healthcare.
