Ted, > You mean all the cheering? OMG, it was nonstop. Not just in Robson Street, but every corner of downtown Vancouver. The honking, the whistling, the yelling, and for no particular reason other than it was the Olympics. I can only imagine how loud it is now with the hockey victory. Probably one of the best games in hockey history. Tenchusatsu

Ted, from my personal perspective, these were the best Winter Olympics ever. - Of course, I was there, so I'm biased. - America won the most medals of any nation in any Winter Olympics. - Canada won the most gold medals, thereby justifying the once controversial "Own the Podium" program. - Regarding Yuna Kim, "The coronation is complete," said the NBC announcer. - The party atmosphere there, both in Vancouver and Whistler, was nonstop. - The competition in just about every sport was intense. - Even moments of tragedy are defined by the way they're dealt with. I thought the way the Olympics dealt with the Georgian luger's death was very heartwarming. But more importantly, the way Joannie Rochette dealt with her mother's sudden death was incredible. - The weather wasn't that bad, at least while I was there. Personally, I think changing weather conditions are all part of the challenge. I don't always get to ski or snowboard on fresh powder, and neither do the pros. - My appreciation for curling went up. Never thought that would happen. Of course, the sex appeal of Cheryl Bernard helped. ;-) So many other good things about these Olympics that far overshadow the bad, but I will get one of the bad things off my chest: - NBC's coverage of the Olympics sucked big time. Come on, tape-delaying events that took place in the Pacific time zone? But what's worse was that last night, NBC squeezed that stupid show, "The Marriage Ref" right in the middle of the closing ceremonies. Why can't NBC just do it like CTV in Canada, where the Olympics were covered 24/7? That's it for now. Back to the mundane political bulls--t ... Tenchusatsu
