In another time, it was argued fairly effectively that marriage should be between people of the same race. Not exactly. The interracial marriages where not considered something other than marriages, they where rather considered (by many) to be immoral or inappropriate marriages, or otherwise marriages which some people wanted to prevent. Yes, they were considered to be inappropriate just as now some people consider a marriage between people of the same sex to be inappropriate. Why do you all worry about things that don't matter in the grand scheme of things?
