LOL-o my that Chryler with buttons!
In this Malibu, was i crazy? Yup.
One early morning no traffic i open it up on interstate 81(as i remember) and unbeknowsr to me there was a State Trooper in what i think were called Chrysler 500s laying a ways back of me --he sees me open up and he opens up, he thinks to run me down.
He was to tell me later he had me clocked at 118 and i was PULLING AWAY from him, he lost sight of me, he put a call down the road to set up a roadblock and have nail pad laid out, if needed.
Fortunately i slowed down and he got me in sight closing down on me with light flashing siren roaring, i politely pulled over to side and when he came to my window i said "No excuses, but i just saw all that empty road and said 'let's go'"
What follwed was a friendly conversation as i turned up my charm meter, and he said he was going to give me a break and write me up as going 85, saying if he didn't i wouldn't see my license again, as it was, i got a 2 month suspension.(Year 1961)
i can only be grateful i never had an accident nor caused one.
i pinned that car at 120 many times--yes i was crazy:)--what was good my girlfriend to be first wife was as crazy as me and loved it.(i would hazard a guess that car could do 135+.)
i still have yet ever to be involved in an auto accident--knock on wood.Max
