John - First, I like your replies because you obviously are knowledgeable and put thought into them. the best indication that the bill will be a political winner is the frenzy with which the Republicans attack it I don't agree with this point. I think most Republicans dislike the scope of the bill and oppose it for that reason. Sometimes opposition is based on philosophy rather than just political considerations. Cutting taxes is politically popular yet Democrats oppose that path. Is Democratic opposition to cutting taxes based only on fear that Republicans will gains votes? I suspect they oppose the idea because they think it is a bad idea.
