The following is a post from a poster on AOL which called Borland investor relations on Monday:

>>

1-[Borland] will have a small booth at comdex, but focusing on road shows and direct sales.
2-value line and s&p are also covering borl, in addition to van casper and ubs. they are trying to increase the coverage.
3-sales of j-builder professional are "awesome" better than anyone expected.
4- will be releasing the client server version of j-builder very shortly.
5- they have an 85% margin on sales, 85% !!!

j-builder standard=$99
j-builder pro=$275
j-builder client server=$3000

an 85% profit margin on these products alone could be huge. we need to try and come up with some sales numbers in order to project earnings in the coming quarters. things look real good and i get the sense that some real solid products are in the pipeline for 1998. sure wish i hade more $ to add to my borl position.

I will try to contact Denise at Borland investor relations later this week to discuss 'unit sales'. I want to know how to get current information, as well as Borland's product mix. Seems to me that this will be important. Anyone who would like to call instead of me, or who can add questions to my list, would be appreciated.

P.S. FWIW, this info suggests strongly that we could see Borland as high as 18 or so by year-end. If all of this is basically true, without a lot of frills, then investors are going to start discounting futures earnings and increasing the stock's PE or Cash Equivalent Ratio.
