Oh, that is so laughable I can hardly manage a response. The country was running up huge deficits, the banking system was close to collapse, and there was depression-era panic. Bush was a lame duck, and the country was desperate to extract itself from the edge of a depression.

How quickly some people forget. However, the lingering impact of those policies will be felt for years, possibly decades. Lost jobs that will never come back; lost confidence that will never be regained; lost opportunities that will be picked up by the Chinese and others; lost investment that is gone forever.

Unfortunately, it's much easier to run the ship into the iceberg than to repair the hole...

It was in far better shape when Bush took over in 2001..

This country was in decent shape when Obama took over.
