but one thing Americans love is success

This is true, but they also know when they are getting screwed. Which one of those perceptions will prove to be decisive remains to be seen.

One problem wit the "reform" is that it is limited and sort of half arsed. It is clearly not the final version. It is a stepping stone towards something which anyone is free to guess about. In the meantime, the citizenry will be asked to pay for health insurance the benefits of which are only scheduled to show up years down the road.

Deficit spending is accelerating... not too many people think that this is good... and very few will believe the assurances that the "reform" will save money.

In the meantime, Iran will become a nuclear power, the rest of ME will follow, the world will become more unstable than ever, and Mr. Obama will need to explain what his strategy has been to prevent that from happening....

That's a scenario that I'm sure all of the GOP members on this thread will immediately scoff at, but when November rolls around, I'm going to remind this thread that I posted this prediction.

David Frum (remember him?) had this to say today...

You will find that the energy liberals gain from socializing healthcare is limited and short in duration. The treacherous act has energized moderates and conservatives and that energy won't get dissipated until this monstrosity is in the trash heap.

In January Obama will have a Congress run by Republicans to deal with. I suspect that despite the long odds, even the Senate will turn and he will find getting funding for Obama/PelosiCare difficult if not impossible.
