Most Americans believe the popular myth that for-profit health insurers are able to provide far lower insurance premiums than non-profits can.

Far lower premiums than the premiums charged by the entirely non-profit medical insurers in nations like Switzerland, currently about half the cost per person of our premiums.

If American's belief in one of our most popular myths proves to be misplaced, and our insurance premiums don't tumble, I'm confident mot Americans will quickly demand immediate alternatives to the existing for-profit insurers.

Americans are fairly pragmatic in that way. We eventually choose the best option available, even if it contradicts stories we were taught as children.
