Gerald; This is in line with my earlier estimates for PGM assays, plus the time to clear the queue of others. Most labs have a 'rush' procedure where they dedicate a tech to the procedure to proceed with each step as fast as reactivity will allow, and of course they charge a premium for this, and might even refuse it if their rush techs are fully time booked. The 'rush' does not mean shoddy work, just taking all the waiting steps out of the loop. And some labs do not offer it due to tech shortages or other reasons. The premium might be quite substantial for this service as it does completely take over one persons time(obviously a 7 day extraction is not watched like a mother hen for 7 days)

One might expect this to be a 'rush' situation. However if there are 2000 samples, at a $100 per sample premium, they might not use it.

Bill

Gerald, thanks for posting. People that interpret that the results are less than expected should read your post as many times as necessary to understand that speculation about poor results as the delay is just wrong. That's the kind of statement that gives me confidence that it's just a laboratory timetable issue. Anne burn your computer, but I feel better.

Re: Kornhauser Message

Thank you!

There is one part of his e-mail that bears repeating:

3. Yes, IPM has contacted both Behre Dolbear and Bateman to inquire as to why it has taken the laboratory this long to complete the work. Bateman and Behre Dolbear have inquired with the laboratory involved and are told that there is other work in front of theirs, and they will just have to wait their turn. [emphasis added]

This is consistent with a point Lew Green made in a recent posting. Anyone who has been in a line at Disneyworld, Universal Studios, or the like with young children instantly sympathizes with what IPM is facing.

Gerald:
Thanks for the update. I feel a little better. It doesn't give the date when IPM inquired with BD/Bateman, which means that the results may be a little closer than what the e-mail implies.
LOL

Re: Angry with You

Dear Gerald:

On Wednesday, I thanked you for posting an e-mail from David Kornhauser, IPM Corporate Secretary. I must now retract those thanks and heap upon you all manner of insult and scorn. You see, by posting substantive information on the company and the only genuine issue at hand -- The Report -- I felt compelled to keep checking this thread for other useful tidbits. Like the mousie who is fed a single kernel of grain to reinforce generally futile behavior, I kept looking through tonight's messages:

Harumph ... Next ... click ... Oh Geezeeee ... Next ... click ... Doh! ... Next ... click ... +sigh+ ... Next ... click ... $#@*! ... Next ... click ... ad nauseam

I would ask that, in the future, you weigh carefully the devastating impact useful posts have on those of us who were nearly weaned off this thread. We have feelings (and carpal tunnel syndrome from rapid "Next" clicks), too.

Pý ;-)
