Obama is striking a good balance between all the forces who are pulling in different directions. A issue that I don't see the bloggers and political pundits talk about is that he has taken the initiative of championing small business causes away from the Republicans. I anticipate that he will do the same with oil drilling. while opening up drilling is some places such as this one, he will also push for things such as high gas mileage car design, solar and other alternative sources of energy etc. Thereby, he demonstrates yet again that he does not take his eyes off the ultimate goal: energy independence.
