Alex, the use of compressed video in medicine has been debated for many years. MPEG2 is "lossy" compression in which some of the image detail is lost in an amount acceptable to viewers of MOVING video images. Do you want a diagnosis performed at a lower resolution? Wht do you think an x-ray would look like on a TV set? Hell, it's hard to read text on a TV screen. . . .
