Wow, impressive trick! I don't ever use the microwave for anything but warming leftovers. Next pasta meal will get that treatment.

You're absolutely right about soaking in general. Not only is it quicker but legumes are healthier for you if you soak the hulls loose.

Shoulda known you were hip to pressure cooking.

O/T bobcor, would that pasta method work with 1-2 lbs. of pasta? It seems like it would be hard to cook evenly in a microwave for large amounts.

It sounds like it works best for single serving stuff.
