My early money would be on that. I just think that the Republican field is absurdly bad... But I might have said that in other years when Republicans have won.

At the moment, a majority of Americans blame Bush for the economy. I think as long as Obama can demonstrate steady improvement, he can KEEP laying it off on Bush, rightly.

Bush damaged the economy at a time when jobs were fleeing anyway chasing cheap labor. Many of those jobs will NEVER come back, and it will take a long time to create new ones to replace them.
