The other is because I can see huge risks without having to get into the weeds to find them, risks that are intuitively obvious, risks that haven't been adequately addressed, which makes me question the thoughtfulness of the proponents and dramatically lowers my confidence that the proponents have a clue.

Speaking of risk, did you catch Greenspan's remarks on ABC's Sunday program last week?

He commented on the risk that the numbers were wrong -- in his usual measured way. I thought it exactly the statement he should have made months ago about the CBO analysis of the numbers.

That is, they could be wrong and could be wrong by a lot, and if they are it will be devastating for the country.

It is strange to me he didn't feel compelled to comment before the fact.
