You are ignoring the fact that it's our oil addiction that lead to our meddling in the Middle East over the last 60 years, including propping up Kings and Dictators, that has resulted in those people hating us enough to want to kill us. It always comes back to our oil addiction. Solve that and we can save literally trillions of dollars, which can be plowed back into investments in the things our country needs for long term prosperity. And along the way, we'll make fewer enemies and will pollute much less.
