residential contractors are the worse, they do terrible work and after they get a bad name, they just change the name of their company. They usually work for someone one time so they know there probably won't be any repeat business so they don't care about their work.

I rebuilt my house after a tree fell on it.

My HVAC contractor billed me after he finish, the next day he called me asking for his money. I said you put on your bill net 30 so I don't have to pay you for 30 days(I was gonna pay him right away anyway, but after he got pissy with me I thought I would mess with him).

He said I want my money now, I said do you know what Net 30 means, he said yeah it's a business term and I said and it means I have 30 days to pay you. He was totally clueless and had been in business for 25 years. I told him to ask his lawyer what net 30 meant.

I'm/was a commercial contractor, you don't last long doing bad work

One of the upsides of this law. (Hopefully) it will reduce or eliminate bad contractors.
