I go on referrals from neighbors, and have had good luck most of the time. A local painting contractor is as good as one can get, and I'd recommend him in a heartbeat.

I had 100 feet of wood flooring torn out and had stone put in. The estimate was $500 and the bill was $1,200. He called later asking if I wanted more done. I told him I wanted another 500 sq feet done but not by him.
