We OWN 61% of GM. When they emerge from bankruptcy, and are re-listed, it's likely that that stock will pay back every cent they owe us, and a LOT more. GM has a huge presence in China, the largest and fastest growing car market in the world.

You HATE it, don't you Dave? Another winning move by Obama!

Poll: Americans Prefer American Cars Again

TOYOTA RECALLS COST ASIAN AUTOMAKERS THEIR REPUTATION
( BUY AMERICAN, you traitor! )

(AP) – After a long romance with foreign rivals, Americans are once again falling in love with American cars. In a new AP-GfK poll, 38% said US-made cars are of a higher quality than their Asian rivals, compared to 33% who preferred Asian brands. The numbers appear to have been largely fueled by a plunge in Toyota's reputation and an upsurge in Ford's—the survey was conducted in March, when Toyota's recall scandal was in the news.

Though the US advantage is modest, it marks a significant turnabout. When the same question was asked in a December 2006 AP-AOL poll, 46% said Asian countries made superior cars, with only 29% backing American vehicles. American cars are now especially popular among those over age 50, and rural residents; men, residents of Western states, and the better educated were more likely to prefer Asian cars.

My response here will undoubtedly be over your head. However, I'll do it anyway.

LOL...the peacock rides again. You just can't help being a jerk can you?

GM may well become profitable again. But any such developed is certain to be short-lived, as they have the massive overhead of unions which will prevent them from competing in world markets. The fact is that a company with higher labor costs is always going to be at a substantial disadvantage in a global market.

Another among your many nefarious foretellings...the dollar was going to collapse, inflation would go to double digits, what other cataclysm is going to befall Obama's administration?
