Your guess is derived from (14PE X 2EPS) + 12cash.....which adds up to $40, not $38.

Is 14 your guess for the LT earnings growth rate, or did you arrive at a PE of 14 some other way?

Latest guidance for 2010 GAAP 2010 EPS for the company was $1.71-$1.82. On what basis do you think they'll make $2.00?

per 2FQ10 report:
2.553B$ = cash + equivalents
8.603B$ = marketable securities (in "current assets")
7.057B$ = marketable securities (not current assets. Does this mean they are considered LT non-liquid investments, not available if they need to raise cash? If so, why should we include them?)
0 = LT debt
shares: 1.678B
$10.85 = cash per share = (2.553 + 8.603 + 7.057 - 0)/1.678
If you're going to round off to the nearest dollar, it would be $11, not $12.
