I wish I were a plutocrat....<sigh>.

The system was made for them, not for me.

Great line in the series Treme now running on HBO. A Black bar owning woman (played by Khandi Alexander who is AMAZING), who's husband and in-laws are lighter skinned Creoles, a subset of the New Orleans aristocracy. She was bemoaning the fact that her brother-in-law (a judge) wouldn't help them pull strings to find her missing inmate-brother who was lost in the prison system after Katrina. She says to her attorney: "My brother in law and his family...the system is built to do things for them. My brother, my mother, me.....it does stuff TO us!". The line slipped by very quick, but said a mouthfull about a lot in not only New Orleans but the entire US caste....WHOOOPS, CLASS system these days. The middle class as we knew it is an endangered species and we will all suffer as a result.
