Do you agree with the GOP's drill, baby, drill policy in light of the current problem in the Gulf?

Well, first of all, let's be clear: It is also the Dem's policy. In case you missed it, a few weeks ago Obama embraced it in the strongest possible terms.

That said, I will wait to see the actual damage rather than make assumptions based on news accounts before forming any judgment as to future drilling. Anyone who remembers the blowout of Ixtoc I knows that the news media hype can differ radically from the actual ecological damage.

And finally, what I can definitely say at this point is that government has a role in monitoring these activities to be sure that drillers can fulfill their obligations WRT environmental concerns.

Obama has had well more than a year to have dealt with these problems and failed miserably. And the failure to respond to the problem when it happened suggests he needs to focus a bit more on running the country and a little less on running the country into the ground.
