RE: told the joke better.... A new guy was just sentenced to life in prison(no, it was not my broker). While sitting in his bunk, he heard someone yell out "NUMBER 62". Following was a loud round of laughter. From the other end of the cell block came "Number 85" followed by more laughter. After several more of these, he asked his cell mate Buba about the practice. His cell mate explained that everyone in the cell block was a lifer, so they had all heard and numbered all the jokes. He told him that to expedite matters, they simply yelled out the number.The newbe was then given "the list" of numbered jokes. He at once yelled out "# 5". No laughter followed. After a moment a replay came from the end of the cell block "Some guys just can't tell a joke". rh
