I'm convinced you have more language development expertise than MSFT & BORL combined.

Therein lies the problem. Do you have languages for breakfast and drive to work in a language? Everything boils down to a language with you. Perhaps you need to think a little more about frameworks and component architecture and patterns in general before you start equating language expertise with the ability to create an interactive GUI builder in any language.

Delphi has proven to be one hell of a good language.

Here again the language issue comes up. Is it really the language or is it something else? Visual Basic is popular despite the language and the non-language aspects are compelling enough to overcome the language's glaring deficiencies. It's interesting that the VB designers and developers continue to steal features from C++ and Java (a good thing to do) while maintaining the simplicity of the drag 'n drop interface construction. The problem for VB is simple: why use it when you can use a modern, rational language without sacrificing the visual design aspects?
