I agree, I think this market will now move higher with a lot less weight attached to it, markets like to travel light, so when too many people are holding positions, they have to be shaken loose...

I'd not let it scare you from your long term plan.

I managed to take some profits in some of my best gainers darn near the top but while today's decline was huge, it didn't trigger my auto buy levels to buy them back! Some stocks came very close, but no cigar today. Maybe an early AM panic could give me my price so I have the nets out...

Solution to the problems in CA to Greece are don't over pay over vacation, over compensated government "workers" more than the private sector for "no fire" jobs that allow dirtbags like Madoff to get away with cheating people while the SEC watches porn.... Once we cut all the government salaries and make them more like public sector jobs where we fire the slackers and they get raises ONLY when they do a good job and help the economy grow... rather than drain it... we'll be fine. Could be some riots as some people don't want to work hard for their pay like those of us in the private sector. Overall, probably good long term to get people productive.
