Wait a minute...Europe is causing the Obama recovery to commence? Fascinating. Those Europeans sure are generous.

In a global economy, a country like Greece, which is no larger than Pennsylvania, can cause a domino effect. Furthermore, in an age where more than 70% of stock trading (our 401k) is computerized, the impact of a developing situation in some small place in the world can impact us here. Notice how the good jobs number on Friday went unnoticed just because of Greece and the nervousness of the precipitous drop in the DOW the previous day.

But this is a new week. And we are in a new situation and looks like the people are now ready to put last week behind them and look ahead to the improved US economy. In the midst of last week's turmoil, it was good to hear folks on CNBC say that the US economy is recovering and the recovery path was so robust, that the European situation would not have that much of a swooning effect here.

I agree that the Obama recovery has been put on track, at least for now and for as long as no other PIIGs slide. I am keeping an eye on Portugal since Spain is strong enough economically to address their situation.
