what you are saying is what I meant... it was 3rd world overall, yes? Has that really overall changed? by 'not do anything' (yes that is a toss off phrase), I mean what do they create, have they ever become balanced.

Greece is no longer third world but it does business in some strange ways. For an example, Greeks get to retire at 54. Tina Fey, who is a Greek American, did a hilarious skit on SNL this past weekend. You should watch it. Its very funny.

and have they ever spent enough time building their nation rather than worrying about that bitty island that Turkey has 1/2 of, or about the Macedonians.

I don't think the country is backward.......they just have some messed up priorities.

I'm just a bit iffy about Greece. and ever 1st world economy? really? perhaps stepped up to 2nd, but ...

and perhaps I am simply annoyed at their attitude towards Macedonia.

Part of Macedonia is in Greece. Alexander the Great was its greatest king.....and when he was king, all of Macedonia was part of Greece. I wouldn't pay too much attention to all the ethnic squabbles in that part of the world. Look at the mess Yugoslavia caused when it broke up. You think American northerners and southerners can't get along.....we are kissing cousins by comparison. <g>
