Biggest ever It's all connected By Ann L. Zevnik, Editor One word: Net-centric. Everything at COMDEX/Fall revolves around the network, around getting and staying connected. Pinpointing a few hot products and technologies is a formidable, if not impossible, task -- we can expect to see major advances in every aspect of the industry from faster, more integrated chip sets to digital toys for the family room to improved bandwidth for global communications. In a nutshell, new products at Fall will be faster, smaller, and connected, not to mention pretty cool. Obviously, Internet anything will be pervasive, from video e-mail for far-flung families to secure e-commerce. The Internet phenomenon continues to revolutionize the hardware and software industries, as vendors Web-enable most business processes and portable and/or wireless devices keep users connected to e-mail and the WWW. For developers and users, a host of tools simplify application and page creation. Video takes center stage with inexpensive video conferencing hardware and software, plus cameras-on-a-chip for easy integration, and video acceleration and compression. Also on the OEM front, new interface technologies are showcased -- IrDA, USB, CardBus, and FireWire -- along with a CPU market that actually has some competition. For the first time, digital consumer technologies are highlighted as the convergence of computing, telephony, and entertainment continues its push into the family room and SOHO. Check out the newest MFPs (multi-function products) and affordable digital cameras. Multimedia hardware such as 24X CD-ROM drives and new DVD drives along with 128-bit graphics cards and theater-quality sound systems power both home and business PCs. All these products and thousands more will be in Las Vegas. Use this Preview to outline your COMDEX experience, and check www.comdex.com for updated exhibitor lists, floor plans, and booth numbers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------

>>> Surely a downgrade AFTER a stock has lost 40% of its value is not a test of accuracy. How about a downgrade in the high 70's once in a while! <<<

I wasn't referring to ASND at it's all-time high, I was talking about it's recent high (55). I couldn't care less about the stock previous to March...I wouldn't have been interested. For your information, most of the analysts downgraded ASND in the 40s. Considering ASND is at 25, their timing for once wasn't too shabby.
