Heck of a lot of Union types here. Wow.

Can't speak for others, but I'm a pragmatist about unions.

They have served a vital role in the history of our country in improving working conditions and compensation..

However, they have abused their power as well and often result in LESS productivity.

Just put me somewhere in the middle as I believe both capitalism and unions are TOOLS available to the overall voting citizenry for bettering their lives.

I also don't believe in permitting EITHER corporations or unions to have the ability to influence our political system. I think campaign contributions from either of them should be outlawed.

Jim;

Heck of a lot of Union types here. Wow.

I think you may be misreading of comments. I'm certainly no wild eyed union type, but as Studdogs post was so clear to point out we are getting diverted when we start targeting unions - read the working man - instead of cleaning out the up side down incentives of those abusing our economic health. If we can hire 680,000 union (or nonunion) teachers for the same amount of money that the top 25 hedge fund managers are making, what does that say about our priorities? About fairness? Its not about unions at all - its about what is right and wrong - its about fairness.

America is financially and morally bankrupt and can't afford unions. They are a thing of the past in American culture sort of like entitlement. Unions are ruining the country. Everyone in a union that makes twice as much as a non union person should be made to give half of the wage to a homeless person who would gladly work for 10.00 an hour but can't because union people are hogging more than their fair share of the pie..

AMERICANS BETTER GET USED TO THE CHANGES COMING.
