People tend to hold back in real life .... unless they live in an area thats all blue or red. On the internet people let it all hang out. Re other threads, there are a few others like this one.

my brother's sister in laws are all liberal union teachers, they are full of hate and anger at at any conservative. They won't even talk to me at family functions

I don't see it in real life Brumar. My friends and relatives are a balanced mix of conservative and liberal. I hear the usual platitudinous remarks when people open up and talk about issues but I never see or hear the hate filled stuff like tejek and his clown puppets bring to this thread, I don't even see it this bad on other SI threads where both conservatives and liberals are posting. Uh....pumpkin, there are few if any SI threads where liberals and conservatives both post....for good reason. .
