Im not getting why Germany within the present context of what EU implies for them, is worth pursuing. Obviously the border trade realities and common currency have practical benefit, and yet the consequences of the burden for others largesse being imposed is problematic, dont you think?

When Germany reintegrated how much did the EU partners contribute to the expenses of the reunification? I recall all manner of moral support, but dont remember any grand financial support.

The article provided raised many red flags, such as complaints about Germany not importing enough from other EU member states. There must be good reason for the lack of demand?

Germany appears like our Texas...same ability to stand on its own, and that ability is enhanced by EU membership, but there must be a better way than forfeit its identity to neighborly largesse.

maybe i'm just clueless here. The disconnects make little sense.
