So Randy's statment in a conference call about a year and a half or two years ago that IDX was the ONLY supplier of livescan to NEC is no longer true. This is not good.

Great - DBII now working with our great "buddy" NEC! I wouldn't be a bit surprised if NEC copied parts of IDX equipment for themselves after working with IDX for the last few years - then, wham, bam, thank you IDX for showing us how to design these machines that we'll be using with the Indiana State Police. Just paranoid, of course, but does this contract involve and $$ for IDX? Shareholders should be informed, yes...no?? More and more I get the feeling our market is getting chewed up by bigger and bigger players - not a good feeling. As I said before - it's like watching an iceberg melt.

marvin,

I posted the link to the DBII/Indiana story this morning......

The important thing to remember in this deal is that NEC replaced Printrak......in a state that had been running a Printrak afis.

If NEC had supplied the input devices....they would have been the 21 series. Why the state of Indiana opted for the DBII machine is a mystery......The individual police departments that will be getting the new machines may be the most surprised of all. I wonder if they are getting the machine they wanted.

ps. We need to track down someone who lives in Indianapolis to blame for this huge mistake!
