No "change" I see. Only what they "inherited". Party of Self hate and blame. Sat on their hands for 18 months?

PS...not blaming htem per se. Just government as usual.

>>>When Secretary Salazar took office, he found a Minerals and Management Service that had been plagued by corruption for years — this was the agency charged with not only providing permits, but also enforcing laws governing oil drilling. And the corruption was underscored by a recent Inspector General’s report<<<

I have never seen such whining from a President. Totally unmanly.

I recall very well "LeaseGate" which happened in about '98 under Bubba Clinton. A lot of offshore leases were sold w/o the traditional royalty escalator clause. So when crude hit $140, the government was still collecting as if it were only $50. The Democrats howled. Of course crude hit $140 in '07 and the leases were made long, lonf before that. Didn't matter who did it.

One point I am trying to make is that MMS seems to have been corrupt time out of memory. Its known failures under Bubba and "W" should have made it ripe for a housecleaning during the "first 100 days."

Besides, those bureaucrats have lifelong jobs. Very hard to fire. Its a little late to be blaming "W." Although "W" was a dork, I can't recall him blaming Clinton too much. There was some that went around for Clinton not sending in a drone to kill Osama bin Laden when he had the chance. I don't think that "W" blamed Enron on Bubba, although Enron and 9/11 were both very ripe and falling off the vine by the time "W" took office.
