True both in direct and indirect terms.

In direct terms Hamas abuses the Palestinians in the area under its control more than Israel does.


Tim, you're being silly. Hamas is the duly elected government of Gaza. If they were as bad as you say, they would not be in power.

In indirect terms, Hamas' words, actions, and apparent intentions make the the idea of a peace process that isn't just for show, or for short term tactical or political advantage, a non-starter, and also provoke a violent (but reasonable given the situation) Israeli response.

The truth is Israel wants complete control over the territories so it can do what its wants with them......and the US under Bush was Israel's enabler. The territories are Israel's expansion room.......its nothing more than a land grab.
