I care greatly about the Gulf states -- I have friends and relatives that live in Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, and in Texas...It makes me sick to my stomach when I consider what BP's tragic and reckless oil spill is doing to the Gulf states' ecosystems and economies.

Unfortunately, both BP and our Federal Government were totally caught unprepared for a worst case scenario...The national catastrophe is not the initial oil well leak, the national catastrophe is that we can't stop it in an acceptable time frame...and it's most unfortunate that our EPA and Federal Government allowed BP to conduct a giant science experiment in the Gulf of Mexico -- never before have we seen close to a million gallons of the toxic and controversial dispersant Corexit used...Many top toxicologists and scientists feel that this will only make the long term impact of the oil spill worse...fyi...
