Well, neolib, you need to ask yourself, which is going to breed more hatred, large scale occupation of Muslim lands by infidel, American soldiers who fight them door to door and routinely kill civilians as part of collateral damage, or faceless drones that target known bad guys with much greater efficiency and without the occupation?

If you want to breed Islamo-fascist martyrs and terrorists at the fastest rate possible, then by all means, send American troops into the Middle East to occupy Muslim land.

As far as those folks not liking drones, absolutely they don't like it. They don't like it because it is cheap, effective, and terrifying. Well, terrorism against Americans is cheap, effective, and terrifying. So it sounds to me like the use of drones is exactly the right response to Islamo-fascists. It undercuts their single-minded goal, stated by Bin Ladin, which was to draw us into an endless, unwinnable large scale war that would drain us of our Treasury.

Well, Bush played into their hands and Obama is now doing it in Afghanistan. Time to be smarter than they are and use our technology to make this an effective and cheap war, where no American lives are lost and Al Qaeda and Taliban lives are ended with regularity and precision.
